Notes: This is probably the father/son listing for Nathaniel Fairfield (Gen. 5) and Samuel Fairfield (Gen. 6), both of whom are known to have resided (and later died) in Pittsford, VT. According to family historian Wynn Cowan Fairfield (direct descendant of their line), Samuel was born in Sutton, mA, September 18, 1752, and "entered in town records as Henry, but later at his own request, his name was changed to Samuel, 'whom the Lord called,' and he was so baptized at the age of fifteen on March 25, 1768." Samuel married Martha Gallup December 25, 1777. He died in Pittsford, VT, December 15, 1828.
