Notes: Here's a father/son entry for Captain Samuel and Ira Fairfield. According to family historian Wynn Cowan Fairfield, Samuel "was an one of the early settlers of Williamsburg (1752), and he died there [July 13, 1803] after holding town offices. He was a captain in the Revolution, with a long war record." Son Ira was born in Hatfield, MA, January 7, 1765, according to Wynn. That would make him about 35 years old in the 1800 census. He married Anna Miller September 20, 1792, and lived until 1850. The census spelling of Ira's middle as Northerly conflicts with Wynn's account of Northaway, being the maiden name of Ira's mother Susannah.
