Notes: Fred was the son of Joseph L. "Saw Log" and Eva Mae (Fairfield) Shrode. He was born November 22, 1889, according to his WWI Draft Registration. He married Lucille Freels February 26, 1915, which is supported by the fact he reports a wife and child (Frederick, born 1916) on the above-mentioned registration. Fred died November 2, 1936, in Evansville, Indiana, according to the Shrode genealogy listing in America's Greatest Family.
