Notes: Dorothy was the child of Alfred M and Caroline (Fairfield) Goodale (and a great-granddaughter of Governor John Fairfield of Maine). She married Allston Dana June 11, 1908. In the 1910 census, Allston was teaching engineering courses at the university in Missoula, accounting for their temporary location out west. After moving back east, Allston continued in the engineering profession, particularly in bridge construction, compiling an impressive list of major projects nationwide.
