Notes: Holland was the son of Azariah and Margaret (Fairfield) Griswold. He was born March 1830 in Vermont. One of his Fairfield cousins, Holland Weeks Fairfield, was named after a popular Vermont evangelist, Holland Weeks, so perhaps Holland Griswold was also. He migrated to Illinois circa 1858, when he was listed as an elder of the new Presbyterian church in Tuscola. Holland died sometime before 1910. His widowed wife lived with their granddaughter.
