Notes: Edward was the son of Charles and Sarah Fairfield. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in December 1844. He moved to Montana, along with his sister Olive, sometime before 1870. He married Emily J. (unknown surname) circa 1879. He was living back in his birthplace of Fort Wayne in 1900, so he moved to California sometime after that, as did his brother Willard.
